Meet Catie Chase
I am a purpose-driven educator.

For over two decades, my passion lies in guiding teens and emerging adults in a unique blend as an independent educational consultant, learning specialist, and college-bound student life coach. My certifications and Master’s degree in Education allows me to be forward-thinking and responsive to the diverse needs of students and parents. I cherish each relationship with my students while creating a nurturing, open environment that’s student-centered, rooted in advocacy, empathy, and utilizing the best educational practices and research for all learners.

My expertise is in guiding neurodivergent learners on a student-centered journey from college readiness to admission and through the transition into and during college. Our focus together will be to build your confidence with an individualized plan to create goals with college readiness skills and ultimately achieve your most desired college placement.

Education:

My educational journey started at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts where I graduated with a degree in Psychology and minoring in Education.

Afterward, I returned back to my sunny hometown of Santa Barbara for graduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), specializing in education and counseling, clinical and school psychology. It’s at UCSB where I earned my M.A. in Education with an emphasis on Special Education, Disabilities & Risk Studies.

In 2010, I received my certification as an educational consultant from the University of California, Irvine in their Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program.

My latest certification is as a Certified Professional Life & Leadership Coach through the highly regarded Academy for Coaching Excellence, a Level 2 Coaching School and the International Coaching Federation.

Career Highlights:

Early in my career, I knew that all students deserve access to engaging with someone who can identify their strengths, provide a positive framework for their future, and use effective learning strategies with mindful and caring guidance. My road began working as a specialist tutor and consultant with students that have learning disabilities in the Santa Barbara area. Continuing in education, supervised all upper-division UCSB undergraduate students as a teaching associate in the Department of Education. It was around the same time that I started my own agency as an Independent Educational Consultant committing to college-bound students to fulfill their best academic and personal potential. Concurrently for the past 10 years, I served as the Director of Learning Services and Director of Academic Access at an exclusive private school in Los Angeles while also embracing my biggest adventure yet, motherhood.
